NorthStar Academy: Your pathway to finance and accounting success with CMA USA, CPA, ACCA, EA and other certifications
00

When I joined Northstar Academy as a Senior Video Editor, the brand had a clear problem: strong courses, but content that wasn't stopping the scroll. Over the next year, I took charge of their social media reels and shorts, rebuilding the way the brand showed up online sharper hooks in the first two seconds, tighter pacing, and a visual identity that finally matched the energy of a brand built for [25K+ students / global certifications]. I wasn't just cutting clips; I was shaping how thousands of aspiring finance professionals first experienced the brand. Reels that once got lost in the feed started getting [X views / X% more engagement / X leads], turning casual scrollers into serious course sign-ups. By the end of the year, Northstar's social presence wasn't just active it was working, driving real conversations, real interest, and real growth for a brand chasing global recognition. That year taught me editing isn't just about making things look good; it's about making people stop, watch, and act.

I began understanding what actually makes people stop mid-scroll: the way a cut lands on a beat, the exact second a hook needs to hit, the difference between a video people skip and one they share. I experimented with trends without losing the brand's voice, tested formats that felt native to Instagram and YouTube Shorts instead of just repurposed ads, and slowly built a rhythm that felt distinctly Northstar's own. Working closely with the marketing team, I wasn't just executing briefs I was shaping how a finance-education brand could feel modern, fast, and human in a space usually filled with stiff, corporate content. That year didn't just sharpen my editing skills; it taught me how to think like a storyteller first and an editor second and that shift is something I now carry into every project I touch.
